Jordan Vauvert On pourrait considérer Be Up A Hello comme un simple retour aux sources mais c'est bien plus que ça. Deux événements vont influencer sa conception. D'abord, Squarepusher perd un ami d'enfance et, si ça ne caractérise pas tout l'album, il se dégage une certaine émotion, entre nostalgie joyeuse, tristesse et colère. Ensuite, Squarepusher s'est fracturé le poignet : ça l'oblige à utiliser des procédés plus classiques mais il est finalement plus organisé que sur ses premiers albums. Rafraîchissant ! Favorite track: Mekrev Bass.

Even by my standards, this album is *weird.* I'm still not quite sure what Autechre is doing for most of the songs, but when I do figure out what's going on, I'm struck by a divine bolt of musical nirvana. M4 Lema is hard hitting, incoherent, and one of the prettiest songs I've heard all year, and r cazt has this incredible, undefinable sense of space that I haven't heard anywhere else. I'm still not sure about the other songs, but when I do figure out what's going on, I'll let you know. furrybeans
